A commercial district founded in the 9th and 10th centuries. The Gothic architecture was destroyed by the uprising of 1419 and the fire in 1541. The Baroque quarter was built in the 17th and 18th centuries. Its authenticity has been preserved to this day. The famous Charles Bridge connects the Lesser Town with the Old Town. In the Lesser Town you can admire the historic architecture and visit one of the many restaurants, cafés, and bars.
The palace was a gift from King Ferdinand I to his wife, Ona Jagiellonian. It is known as Ona's summer residence.
It is also the "Court of Honour" where the President receives foreign delegations. The ceremony is very beautiful and unforgettable.
