An old man from Birštonas, A. Žiukas, used to tell a story about the treasures guarded by the Golden Queen, but no one dared to find out the truth. One day the shepherds met on the mountain and forced the weakest shepherd to crawl into the opening. They tied him to a rope and lowered him into the hole, warning him that if he tugged on the rope he would be pulled up. As he descended, the shepherd noticed a woman wearing a crown sitting on a large chest. According to the shepherd, the queen turned to him and told him that she knew he had come here by force, so she urged him to put as much wealth as he could into his pockets.

When the other shepherds picked him up, the oldest decided to go into the cave himself. But the shepherds had to wait for him for a long time, and when the rope still did not move, they began to pull it up, only to find the chopped-off hand. People have been afraid of these treasures ever since.

Later, a mysterious girl from Vilnius visited Birštonas and discovered the wealth of Vytautas Hill. Nobody knows for sure if she was a sorcerer, but the old people claim she found a pot full of gold coins on the hill. Others saw where the money was and even saw the cauldron itself. The cauldron was massive, resembling a money chest. With the money, the girl and her relatives became wealthy, even building their ships. However, it is believed that charmed riches always bring bad luck. And so, the money didn't work out for the best. The steamboat killed the girl's brother at Vytautas Hill, and the other riches went to waste.
